But a video gaining popularity on social media shows that even the apex predators avoid contact with humans until necessary. The clip shows a mountain lion hiding in the bushes outside a house while a jogger passes by. It was recorded by a camera installed near the house.

Shared by Indian Forest Officer (IFS) Susanta Nanda on Twitter on Thursday, the video opens with a cougar strolling in front of a house. The animal can be seen firmly hidden in the bushes, while a woman is spotted jogging on the road. The location of the video is not mentioned.
“Wild animals will avoid conflict with humans in most situations. They only react when threatened. Interesting video of a mountain lion looking at the runner after fully disguising itself to avoid conflict,” the caption reads.
The animal remains hidden nearby until the woman leaves the frame. The video has since been shared more than 41,000 views and more than 1,900 likes. More than 300 users have retweeted the post. Numerous users have commented in the comment section of the post.
“I don’t quite agree with your comment. Yes, most animals try to avoid conflict with us. But in big cat situations, they will hide, watch and wait for the perfect opportunity to pounce on their prey,” one user wrote.
