A scary video has surfaced on social media showing a couple and their dog being chased into their home by an angry black bear. The incident took place on Tuesday in Apopka, Florida, when the couple had just stepped outside with their dog.
The short footage captured with a doorbell camera installed outside the house shows the couple rushing back to their home with their dog behind them.
‘Let’s go’, the man is heard to say. “Where is he? Where is he?” asks the woman. The barking dog stops to look back in the yard and then the bear enters the camera frame.
A lot of screaming is heard as the bear stops just outside the house. He looks around and then leaves.
“We were walking the dog on the potty and a bear attacked us from our neighbor’s house,” the woman told ViralHog.
“We entered the house safely and closed the front door and banged,” she added.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
The Daily mail contacted local police who said they were not aware of the incident and have not been contacted.
Multiple bear sightings have been reported in several areas of Florida. Last month, David Bass and his wife were just about to leave their home when a black bear came running around the corner, forcing the couple to run back inside.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it receives up to 6,000 bear-related calls each year. It added that in more than 50 years, only 15 incidents have been reported of people with moderate to severe injuries as a result of an encounter with a bear.
“Fortunately, the black bear population in Florida is growing. We now have more bears than at any time in the past 100 years, but our conservation efforts are not finished. There is still work to be done,” the committee writes on its website.
It has asked people to remove food – such as birdseed – or even waste stored outside of their homes to avoid attracting bears.
