The fan of cricketer Dinesh Karthik celebrated his first match as Team India captain by creating his portrait with Rubik’s Cube. The huge portrait received several acclaim on social media, including from the cricketer himself.
Karthik, the wicketkeeper batsman, captained Team India for the first time in a T20 warm-up match against Derbyshire on 1 July. To congratulate him, Pritveesh K – who describes himself as a mosaic artist and speedcuber – created the portrait of the cricketer using 600 Rubik’s cubes.

The video of the portrait being taken was shared by Prithveesh K on Twitter on Monday. “@DineshKarthik will lead team India. 600 Rubik’s cube mosaic artwork @BCCI,” read the video’s caption.
The time-lapse video shows Rubik’s Cubes being mounted on the floor until it becomes the face of Dinesh Kartik.
The video has gained over 86,000 views and approximately 18,000 likes. Fans of Dinesh Kartik have flooded the comment section with praise and best wishes.
One user wrote: “DK sir is a legend for sure”, one user wrote.
While another said: “Unreal. Just fantastic. Great art form. Keep it up.”
A few hours later, Karthik also responded to the post saying, “Very nice work prithvi. Very impressive.”
Karthik, who made his international debut in 2004, has played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs and 39 T20Is. On Friday, he led Team India against Derbyshire in his first meeting as captain.
India won the match by 7 wickets with 20 balls remaining. On Sunday, Karthik led India in his second game against Northamptonshire. India won that match by 10 runs. As Team India captain, Karthik currently has a perfect track record.
