An alert police officer sprang into action to save a teenager’s life.
An alert police officer is hailed as a hero for saving the life of a teenager who jumped onto the track when a train approached. The incident took place on March 23 at around 2:30 PM at Vitthalwadi Railway Station in Maharashtra’s Thane District. CCTV footage of the incident shows the police officer risking his life to prevent the teenager from being run over.
Shared by news agency ANI, the 33-second footage shows the teenager, in a yellow shirt, standing on the edge of the platform. The police officer is also seen nearby. However, the teenager seems to see an approaching train and jumps on the rails. After losing his balance for a moment, he gets up and puts his hands back while facing the approaching train.
The policeman notices this and runs towards the track. Once at the edge of the platform, he hesitates for a split second when he sees the train approaching, but then jumps onto the track. He grabs the teenager and pushes him to the other side of the rails. Within seconds, the train passes where the teenager was standing.

The teen should be questioned as to why he did this; was it for social media, or did he have some issues, if so then he needs help. But first and foremost, the duty police officer’s super job, endangering his own life for the teenager.

Earlier this month, ticket-checking staff at the train station in Danapur in Bihar rescued a young man who tried to end his life by climbing onto the roof of a locomotive. He seemed to be reaching for the power line. One of the staff members got into the motorbike, wrapped a scarf around the man’s neck and dragged him down to safety.
