Amusement parks are fun spaces where people enjoy themselves and seek thrills. But for some, the idea of riding and descending on a fast-moving, whirling track can be terrifying. The rides at these parks are known for turning your stomach into a pulp and producing crazy accelerations and G-forces. However, the feeling can get worse when one comes to know that their ride is stuck in the air. The scream of excitement and excitement suddenly becomes a scream of fear for life.
Recently, a group of visitors to an amusement park in the city of Fuyang, Anhui province in China, experienced a different kind of fear — one where the giant pendulum ride remained stationary for about 10 minutes.
The tourists at the park were left hanging upside down after the giant pendulum ride broke down on Jan. 19. As shown in the video, the ride suffered a mechanical failure and was stuck while at its highest point.
The video of the incident was released by Viral Press and distributed by AP.
Workers and staff present at this Chinese amusement park tried to repair the giant pendulum ride, but were unsuccessful. They couldn’t reboot the control panel. After several attempts, the officials decided to manually fix the ride by climbing up the poles during the ride.
Park officials said the swing had the problem because it exceeded the weight limit by the number of people on it.
Fortunately, officials managed to repair the ride and get it moving within 10 minutes. Theme park officials also issued refunds to affected tourists and provided assistance with medical expenses for the trauma caused by the ride’s failure.
