While the nine-day Navratri festival has already begun, a video shows women performing a unique form of performance ‘garba’ in the city of Rajkot in Gujarat has caught the attention of social media users. The clip shows several women in traditional clothing ‘chaniya choli’ clothes, performance ‘Talwar Ras’ or sword swinging on bicycles, scooters and jeeps. The unique garba event is said to have taken place on Tuesday, the third day of Navaratri, news agency said ANI.
The event was organized at Rajvi Palace in Rajkot. Women entered the venue waving swords in the air while riding Royal Enfield Bike and Land Rover. This was also followed by a few women riding Honda Activa scooters while their passengers stood on their seats and brandished swords.

All vehicles were decorated with streamers. At the end of the video, six women could also be seen riding the Land Rover, wielding swords as the female driver continued to circle the ground.
The video was initially shared by ANI on X (formerly Twitter). It has been collectively viewed more than 300,000 times. In the comments section, netizens praised the women for their achievements.
“This is women empowerment,” one user wrote. “I absolutely love the bullet aspect of the video,” said another.
“Incredible and impressive,” said a third user. “That’s not just any motorcycle, that’s a damn 350cc bullet. Hats off,” another added.

Notably, Navratri is celebrated to welcome the arrival of Goddess Durga. Devotees worship the nine forms of Goddess Durga on this auspicious occasion and seek blessings for the well-being of their families. One of the main highlights of Navratri celebrations in the country is the traditional dance form ‘Garba’ which is a symbol of devotion and worship.
Garba originated in Gujarat and to celebrate the festival people wear rich, traditional and colorful attire. Women wear ‘Chaniya choli’, a colorful three-piece dress, consisting of a blouse, skirt and dupatta. They also wear heavy jewelry: earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc. Men wear kafni pajamas immediately Ghagra – a short round kurta – above the knees and a pagadi on the head.
