A new beauty trend is gaining popularity on social media, where Gen Z and Millennials paint their nails in shades of green, in the conviction that it brings abundance, peace, health and happiness. Called the “green nail theory”, the beauty trend is a spin on the previous red and blue nail theories, according to a report in the New York Post.
The red nail theory means that a wash of the daring shade helps to draw a potential love interest. In the meantime, the blue nail theory states that those in a relationship go unconsciously or intentionally for the shadow.
According to Google's beauty report in March, the searches for “Green Nail Theory” have risen in recent weeks, whereby users claim that it is a new-age spider in manifestation. Experts have called green nails “wearable vision boards” that help to present ideas for success and positivity.
“There is intention and energy behind everything you do, whether you realize that or not. If you use specific colors or palettes about others, you make choices that reflect who you are,” became Rachel Onefater, founder and CEO of Ora Mer, a platform for psychic lectures and intuitive healing, cited by the publication.
Psychologically, the green color has long been linked to healing, stress lighting and serenity. It is perhaps one of the reasons why hospitals often use it in decor to help patients relax in the disturbing environment.
Is nail theory real?
The short answer is no, and although skeptics can reject it as superstition, some see value in the placebo effect of the trend. The idea that men will be attracted to women with a certain nail color is not rooted in a science, but that does not mean that people were not leaned in the idea because the trend steam began to win.
Likewise, green nail theory is intended to enable women to find roads that make them financially independent and to pursue a lifestyle that brings them comfort.

Other nail theories
Apart from red, blue and green, several other nails have their respective theories. A few are mentioned here:
Black nail theory: The color black is associated with power and intrigues. That is why a black manicure is entirely about giving a boost of trust.
White nail theory: According to popular influencers, white nails indicate that a person is single and is ready to mix. It is believed that white tones make the skin look snake, giving the impression that one is a clean person.
Pink nail theory: Associated with femininity and delicacy, pink shadow nails are about tapping the cheerful and feminine side of a person.
