India has registered 2.85 lakh Covid cases in the last 24 hours, 11 percent higher than yesterday, with a marginal increase in positivity rate compared to yesterday.

The test positivity rate, which is an indicator of the spread within the community, rose from 15.52 percent yesterday to 16.16 percent in the last 24 hours.
In the past 24 hours, 665 Covid-related deaths were reported, slightly more than the 614 deaths recorded yesterday.
The country’s active case count now stands at 22 lakh – 5.5 percent of the total number of infections to date.
The recovery rate now stands at 93.23 percent, with recoveries of 2.99 lakh in the past 24 hours. The country has so far recovered 3.73 crore from the infection.
So far, a total of 72.05 crore samples have been tested, of which 17.69 lakh in the last 24 hours.
