Two persons were killed and two others injured after a sudden explosion at a pharmaceutical company followed by a huge fire in Gujarat’s Valsad district on Monday night.
According to officials, a sudden explosion occurred at Van Petrochem Pharma Company in Sarigam GIDC Chemical Zone in Valsad district.

The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital.
Fire trucks were also deployed after receiving information about the incident. However, the firefighters could not use water to put out the fire because they were unaware of the chemical that caused the explosion before the fire.
“We received a call that a fire had broken out. Two bodies have been found so far. Two people have been hospitalized. When I arrived here with the fire brigade, there were no security personnel. We cannot start the firefighting because we know not sure what chemical is there, which caused the fire,” said Rahul Murari, Sarigam firefighter.
“Two died and two people were injured in an explosion that happened at around 11:30 pm last night at a business in Sarigam GIDC,” said Vijay Singh Gurjar, SP, Valsaid, adding that the rescue operation has been temporarily halted, which will happen. resumed in the morning.
