Bhopal:
Two men became friends with students from a private engineering college in Bhopal by Madhya Pradesh, reportedly raped and blackmailed with private videos, later forced them to repent and get married. The police have formed a special Sondeteam to investigate the incident.
A 19-year-old woman approached the police earlier this month and claimed that her university friend, Farhan, has raped her and made private videos to blackmail her. The woman claimed that she was forced to introduce her friends to Farhan and his employee, Sahil, who then reportedly raped and blackmailed her friends.
One of the survivors is a minor. The accused, Farhan and Sahil, would have hidden their identity to make friends with the students. The accused would have forced them to repent and get married.
The case draws parallels with the notorious rape case of Ajmer, with more than half a dozen students in a web of deception and exploitation in a web of deception and exploitation since 2022.
The officers have arrested Farhan and Sahil, and three zero spruce are registered in BAG Sewania, Jehangirabad and Ashoka Garden Police Stations under the Pocso Act, the IT -Act, sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Madyaaa.
During the investigation, the police reclaimed videos on the phone's phone, which led to the identification of more suspects and survivors.
Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra confirmed the arrests and said: “We had received certain complaints, and a FIR was registered on that basis. Three separate complainants have emerged in this case. Pocso Act has also been added.
Sources indicate that many survivors did not come out and reported the incident for fear of defamation and social stigma. They are offered counseling support. The police believe that the gang operated systematically and focused on other students.
