Budaun (Uttar Pradesh):
A 20-year-old boy here in a village is said to have killed his grandparents in an argument over money to buy booze and hid their bodies in two separate rooms, police said on Sunday.
Himesh, the accused, lived with his grandparents in Delhi and is reportedly addicted to alcohol, they said.
According to police, the suspect killed the elderly couple on June 22 in the village of Damri in Budaun in Uttar Pradesh, where they were attending a wedding.
Police said they recovered the partially decomposed bodies of the man and woman and sent them for autopsy.
“The partially decomposed bodies of Premshankar (65) and Bhawan Devi (60) were found in the closed houses of their sons in Damri village under the boundaries of Faizganj Police Station. The sons and elderly couple lived in Delhi,” Chief Inspector of police (rural ) Siddhartha Verma told PTI.
According to a complaint from one of the sons of the couple living in the village, his parents had come to the village with their grandson Himesh to attend a wedding.
“Himesh is an alcoholic and fought with his relatives for money to buy liquor. It is alleged in the complaint that Himesh killed his grandparents after an argument over money to buy alcohol on June 22,” the officer said.
After the bodies were dumped in the two separate houses, the suspect fled the village, he said.
Police have filed an FIR in relation to the case and have launched an investigation, he added.
