Kushinagar, OP:
A 16-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped in a moving vehicle in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar district earlier this month, police said. Three men, all neighbors of the victim, were arrested on Monday.
According to police, the incident took place on September 9, when the suspect called the minor girl to clean a cowshed. The victim wrote in her complaint to the police that the suspect threatened her with a knife and took her to a barracks before forcing himself on her.
Later, two of his associates reached the spot, kidnapped her and took turns raping her in a moving vehicle. The three suspects then dumped her outside the cowshed. After the girl regained consciousness, she managed to reach home and narrated her ordeal to her parents.
She alleged in her complaint that the Kaptanganj police station had not initially registered an FIR. An official complaint was registered only after the victim and her family sought the help of senior officers.
“A case has been registered in the case under relevant sections and three suspects have been arrested and sent to jail. Legal action is being initiated,” Kushinagar district police said in a statement.
