Bahraich:
Five people, including three children, were electrocuted on Sunday, while four others suffered burns when they came into contact with a high-voltage wire in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The incident took place around 4 a.m. in the village of Masupur in the Nanpara area, when villagers were setting out in a procession and an iron bar in a cart they were traveling in came into contact with the wire, locals said. .
Additional Superintendent of Police Nationwide Ashok Kumar told PTI that while four people died on the spot, one died while being treated at a hospital.
The condition of one was that the injured person was critical, he said.
Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath noted the incident and ordered officials to treat the injured.
