Ratnagiri:
Three people were killed on Friday morning after their car collided with a stationary truck on the Mumbai-Pune highway near the village of Urse, police said.
According to the police, one of the victims has been identified as Vijay Vishwanath Khair.
“The car was on its way to Pune from Mumbai. It hit from behind a loaded stationary truck parked at the roadside and three people including the driver were killed in this incident,” police said.
After receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and sent the bodies to the hospital.
Police said the impact was so powerful that the car almost went under the truck and all three people died on the spot.
“Traffic was affected, but after the damaged vehicle was later removed from the road, everything returned to normal,” police officials added.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
