New Delhi:
AAP leader Sanjay Singh has filed a complaint with the police against K Eshwarappa of the BJP over his reported comments that the saffron flag would one day become the national flag of India and said he should be arrested.
BJP MLA and former minister in the government of Karnataka Eshwarappa has reportedly said that the saffron flag has been respected for thousands of years and that it will undoubtedly become the national flag one day.
Mr Singh said he has filed a complaint against the BJP leader at the North Avenue Police Station here.
“I have applied to register an FIR against Eshwarappa for insulting the national flag by saying that the saffron flag will one day become the national flag of India. For more than 50 years, the national flag was not hoisted on the RSS headquarters. Actually, the BJP is against the national flag,” said the Rajya Sabha MP from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
He further said that Eshwarappa should be arrested for his comments.
