An AirAsia flight to Calcutta has aborted takeoff after a suspected bird was struck at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport in Lucknow, officials said.
“The pilot of an AirAsia flight aborted takeoff around 11 a.m. after a suspected bird hit the runway. This happened before the flight could take off. The plane has returned to the bay and all passengers have disembarked safely,” said Rupesh Kumar, spokesman for the airport.
He said there were more than 180 passengers on the flight.
“The airline has made alternative arrangements for the passengers,” Kumar said.
