Newly appointed Maharashtra opposition leader and National Congress Party (NCP) leader Jitendra Awhad expressed strong disapproval of the NCP Ajit Pawar faction using the photo of Sharad Pawar at their party office and said that all NCP employees should Supporting Pawar and being angry about Ajit Pawar’s step.
“All NCP employees are with Pawar saheb (Sharad Pawar). That’s why the workers are angry with what Ajit Pawar did. That’s why his poster has been removed from the party office,” said Jitendra Awhad.
Speaking about Sharad Pawar’s strong disapproval of the use of his photo at the party office of Ajit Pawar’s faction of NCP, Jitendra Awhad said, “What Pawar Saheb has said about his photo is absolutely correct. NCP Party belongs to Sharad Pawar. So only Pawar Saheb will decide who will use his photo.”
Referring to Ajit Pawar’s coup on Sunday, the newly appointed NCP chief whip said, “What did Ajit Pawar and his colleagues do to Pawar saheb? They rejected his ideals and continued with the BJP. So what right has he ( Ajit Pawar) are you using Pawar Saheb’s photo? Now he is asking for votes himself.”
The NCP leader opposed Ajit Pawar’s move to build a new party office near Mantralay in Mumbai and questioned how he is using the name and symbol of the NCP.
“By what authority is Ajit Pawar’s faction building another party office by adopting the name and symbol of the party?” asked Mr. Awhad.
Teaching Ajit Pawar about the recent Supreme Court order on the standoff between Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray, Mr. Awhad said, “He is not aware of the Supreme Court order in the Shinde faction case. election symbol set by the Election Commission. All of these will be subject to legal action. We are considering that as well.”
Responding to Maharashtra Chairman Rahul Narvekar deciding on Ajit Pawar’s latest move, Mr Awhad said, “Speaker Rahul Narvekar has every right to decide our petition. But how much time does he have for that.”
“Now Sunil Prabhu from the Uddhav faction of the Shiv Sena has gone to the Supreme Court. It will decide how much time the Speaker will have to make a decision,” he added.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Member of Parliament Sunil Prabhu has requested the Supreme Court to seek a direction from the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker to decide on the pending disqualification requests against rebel Sena MLAs led by Eknath Shinde.
Jitendra Awhad added that there were signals from Ajit Pawar and Praful Patel that they were about to leave the party.
“Ajit Pawar was about to leave..we already knew it..because he started signaling. Praful Patel was also signaling all the time..and now he did this,” he said.
Ajit Pawar had earlier said that he wants the post within the party and was not satisfied as leader of opposition of Maharashtra Assembly.
