Prayagraj:
A man in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh carried the body of his 15-year-old son more than two kilometers on his shoulders in the rain after he was unable to get an ambulance from the hospital where he died.
A video of a Bajrangi Yadav carrying his son’s body on his shoulders in the MG road area surfaced on social media earlier this week.
Mr Yadav said Shubham, his son, received an electric shock and was taken to a government hospital where he died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.
He said that when he contacted hospital staff for an ambulance, they asked for an amount, which he was unable to provide.
Mr Yadav then left for home with his son’s body on his shoulders and walked from the hospital to the ‘new bridge’, about two kilometers away.
There, an army personnel helped him get an ambulance to take his son’s body to his village.
The district judge could not be reached for comment on the incident, because his mobile was found to be switched off.
Prayagraj Departmental Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said on Wednesday that a high-level investigation into the case will be conducted and those found guilty will be punished.
