Lucknow:
Ahead of the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in the Jan Vishvas Yatra to be shut down by the BJP on Sunday.
Mr Shah will also address public gatherings in Kasganj and Jalaun.
In a statement released in Lucknow, the BJP of Uttar Pradesh said Union Minister Shah will participate in the Jan Vishvas Yatra and hold public meetings in Kasganj and later in Jalaun.
Mr Shah will travel across the state in the coming days, covering more than 140 constituencies, sources said.
Taking the caste comparisons into account, each program will be attended by people from three OBC-dominated constituencies, two urban constituencies, a scheduled caste-dominated constituency and a minority-dominated constituency, they said.
One of the key features of Mr Shah’s visit is his late evening meetings with party staff to deliberate strategies for the upcoming elections, they said the party led by Mr Shah as BJP chief had won a huge majority in the 2017 Uttar Pradesh meeting polls, and won 67 Lok Sabha seats out of 80 in 2019.
In 2014, when he was in charge of Uttar Pradesh, the BJP had won 73 Lok Sabha seats.
