Chandigarh:
An army-Jawan posted in Jammu and Kashmir has been arrested for alleged online training to the man who hurled a grenade in the residence of a Jalandhar-based YouTuber last month, said the Punjab police on Thursday.
A court in Jalandhar sent the Jawan, Sukhcharan Singh, to five-day police forecasts, police officers said.
The most important accused, Hardik Kamboj, hurled the hand grenade to the house of YouTuber Roser Sandhu on the intervening night of 15 and 16 March. However, the grenade did not explode.
During the investigation it came to light that Singh Online training gave Kamboj when throwing the grenade in the Residence of the YouTuber, said Senior Superintendent of Police (Jalandhar Rural) Harvinder Singh Virk.
Singh came into contact with Kamboj via social media platform Instagram, the police said.
Singh, originating from the Muktsar district, was mentioned in the FIR and a detention warrant was protected at a court, the SSP said.
The police said they have informed the army authorities about the role of Singh in the case.
A court in Jalandhar sent Singh to the five-day police forecast. Further investigation in the case is underway, they said.
The police have so far arrested nine people, including Kamboj, in this case.
