New Delhi:
The Supreme Court lawyer who had written to the CBI and a BJP MP claiming he had evidence that Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra took bribes from a businessman to raise questions in Parliament has now filed a letter sent to the Delhi Police Commissioner claiming that he expects “a very serious threat to his life” over the complaint.
Jai Anant Dehadrai has also alleged that there was a direct attempt to force him to withdraw his complaint and threats were made to damage his reputation if he did not agree.
Mr Dehadrai, who has called Ms Moitra her ‘throwaway ex’, was reportedly dating the Trinamool MP and the two are said to have not been on the best terms since they parted ways. One of the reasons for the friction between them is their dog, a Rottweiler named Henry. Both have accused the other of ‘stealing’ Henry and a battle is being waged in court for his custody. The dog is currently with Mrs. Moitra.
In his letter to the commissioner, Mr Dehadrai said he wrote under “extremely distressing circumstances” and expected a threat to his life because of his October 14 complaint against Ms Moitra and others, which he had filed with the CBI and the commissioner . BJP MP Nishikant Dubey.
The lawyer claimed that a direct attempt was made on Thursday to force him to withdraw his complaint.
“I was also threatened with damage to my reputation if I did not agree. The very specific demand was that I would unconditionally withdraw both the complaints containing very serious allegations relating to national security and corruption made by me against Smt. Moitra and others have been voiced. It was stated that my pet Rottweiler Henry would be returned to me by Ms Moitra if I agreed to withdraw the said complaints,” Mr Dehadrai wrote.
