patna:
Janata Dal (United) National President Rajeev Ranjan Singh on Friday launched a scathing attack on former BJP ally and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Call the PM a behrupiya (imposter), he said it is necessary to expose this dhongi (imposter).
Mr Singh, better known as Lalan Singh, said the country has suffered under the rule of the BJP. More jobs have been lost since the Modi government came to power than at any time in the history of independent India, he said.
“Where did they give (BJP) work? There is no account, the ledger is empty. Sometimes they will say bring a cheetah, sometimes they will say they will have the Ram temple built. Who is a behrupiya? The one who shows 12 forms in 12 days. This whole party (BJP) is the same,” he said.

Bihar Nitish Kumar’s closest confidant, Lalan Singh, also claimed that the Bharatiya Janata party is anti-reservation. Referring to the 2015 parliamentary elections in Bihar, he said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had said before the election that it is time to rethink the reservation system.
“This is the thinking of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The RSS runs the Bharatiya Janata Party. So from the control tower came the idea that the reservation system now needs to be reconsidered,” he said.
Mr Singh, there is no “ati-pichhda warg”, or extremely backward classes anywhere, except in Bihar. “Who gave this, Jannayak Karpoori Thakur. For the first time in 1978, Karpoori Thakur identified the most backward class and gave reservation in jobs in the state government. When Nitish Kumar became the prime minister in 2005, he carried the dreams of Jannayak Karpoori Thakur about,” he said, adding that in 1979 the Bharatiya Janata Party, which was then the Jana Sangh, withdrew its support for Karpoori Thakur and removed him from the post of Chief Minister because in 1978 he had made a reservation to the most disadvantaged classes.
“This is their character,” he said.
The Extreme Backward Classes (EBCs) belong to a demographic focus for Nitish Kumar.
The JD(U) chief took another swipe at Prime Minister Modi, claiming he is a “duplicate” for falsely claiming to be “ati-pichda (extremely retarded)” while campaigning across the country.
“There is no EBC category in Gujarat, only OBC (Other Backward Classes). He (PM Modi) wasn’t even that before he became Gujarat Chief Minister. His community was added to the OBC list after he came to power He’s a duplicate, not an original,” he said.
Former deputy chief minister and Rajya Sabha member Sushil Kumar Modi hit back, saying Lalan Singh has offended the most backward communities by uttering “obscene words” such as “duplicating backwards” in front of Prime Minister Modi. “This statement is a testament to the party’s anti-backward feudal mentality,” he said.
Lalan Singh spoke at an event to welcome former BJP leader Pavandev Chandravanshi and his supporters who switched to the JD(U).
“You have done well. Now you have joined a real party and you are not a fake,” he said, addressing Mr Chandravanshi and calling on the party cadres to reach out to the extremely backward communities and help them warn to be vigilant for the “behrupiya ” who comes again with a different face.
