Hyderabad:
BJP President JP Nadda on Sunday criticized the government of Telangana, led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (aka KCR), saying the state suffered a loss of Rs 4.5 lakh crore.
“People are alarmed by the corruption and injustice of the KCR government. The state has lost Rs 4.5 lakh crore under him. The people gave us a good response in the recent elections held at various levels in the state” , said Mr Nadda on the second day of the BJP National Executive Meeting in Hyderabad.
He also stressed that the people of Telangana were fed up with the state government’s malpractice.
“I was in charge of the elections here in the municipal elections, I have seen the atmosphere of that time and the environment after. The way people are tired of the KCR government and the malpractice of his government and the way they are trying to crush opposition parties,” he added.
Earlier, the Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah, also made a clarion call to the people of Telangana to uproot the government of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and give the BJP a chance.
The Union’s interior minister, Amit Shah, said on Sunday that KCR is not concerned about the unemployed youth and only wants to make his son, KT Rama Rao, the prime minister.
On the last day of the BJP’s National Executive Assembly in Hyderabad, Mr. Shah said the BJP supported the demand for Telangana and accused Congress of dividing Andhra Pradesh in a way that caused “eternal enmity” between two states.
“KCR doesn’t care about your source of livelihood. He doesn’t care about the unemployed youth. He just wants to make his son the prime minister. KCR, the next turn is neither for you nor for your son. The next turn is for the BJP,” he said.
“Since the beginning of the agitation for the formation of Telangana, the BJP supported the demands of the state. Instead, Congress stood in the way of its formation for years. When they sensed the rise of Prime Minister Modi in 2014, they divided Andhra Pradesh in a way that created perpetual enmity between the two states. This enmity, fueled by Congress, was further heightened when KCR took power in the state,” the interior minister said.
Amit Shah said the BJP will keep all promises that the TRS has failed to keep while asking for a chance for the party to rule the state.
