Telangana, under KCR’s rule, is number one in the country in terms of per capita income, KTR reported.
Hyderabad:
In a scathing attack, ruling BRS working president in Telangana KT Rama Rao on Tuesday accused the BJP of playing communal politics and the Congress of announcing ‘poll guarantees’ in a desperate bid to garner votes.
Speaking at an event where a BJP leader joined the BRS, he alleged that “those in the government at the Center” did not like the fact that the BRS government was celebrating September 17, the day when the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad merged with the Indian Union, as ‘national’. integration day’.
“The Narendra Modi ji government at the Center is playing dirty politics by dividing the society on caste or religious basis, creating animosities and tensions, creating unnecessary problems in the name of Hindus or Muslims, reopening old wounds, communal problems are being fueled and mileage is being attempted,” he alleged.
The Modi government and the BJP have inflicted a slew of injustices on Telangana over the past nine years, including the merger of ‘mandals’ (administrative units) in Telangana with Andhra Pradesh at the time of state bifurcation and failure to honor the guarantees given to Telangana are given in the government. Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, said Rama Rao, minister in the state government.
Prime Minister Modi had promised to bring back black money and deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank accounts of the poor, he claimed. But it didn’t happen, he said.
However, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has transferred Rs 73,000 crore into the accounts of 70 lakh farmers under the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ anti-riot investment scheme, said Rama Rao, son of the CM.
He also attacked the BJP-led government over the rise in fuel prices, fall in the value of the rupee against the dollar and others.
A BJP leader in Telangana is making a film on the ‘Razakars’ (armed supporters of the Nizam rule), which is an attempt to revive ‘old wounds’ and stir up trouble among the people, he alleged.
“On one side ‘Kashmir Files’ and on the other side ‘Kerala Story’ and ‘Razakar Files’. Having done nothing for the country in the last nine years, those who cannot do anything play with emotions and practice such cheap politics. Rama Rao said.
Referring to Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi who attended a Congress meeting in Hyderabad two days ago, he said the Congress is now asking for “one chance” to rule but it has been given 11 chances for 55 years by the people from Telangana and the country.
The Congress did not provide drinking water and power supply and did not implement programs like ‘Rythu Bandhu’ when it was in power, he alleged.
“Frustration because we cannot come to power. …They (Congress) are making hasty promises to come to power,” he said.
When Congress announced six guarantees for the people at the meeting, he claimed that there are problems in power and drinking water supply, problems in seed availability and “one prime minister per year” is guaranteed if Congress comes to power , he said.
The Congress government in neighboring Karnataka is unable to fulfill the promises it made ahead of the Assembly elections, he alleged.
Telangana, under KCR’s rule, is number one in the country in terms of per capita income and per capita energy consumption, and supply of piped water to every household and others, he said.
KCR should be re-elected as a “hat-trick CM” in the Assembly elections (due in a few months), he said.
The BRS leader’s attack on the NDA government regarding September 17 is a reference to the Center organizing an official function in Hyderabad, attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, to celebrate ‘Hyderabad Liberation Day’ and the BJP attacks the BRS government for not officially celebrating the day.
