Speaking at a meeting in Kurukshetra, Mr. Kejriwal said that the AAP government in Delhi has been transforming government schools. He said students from government schools now perform at the same level as their private school counterparts.
“As many as 4 lakh students left private schools this year to join the government schools in Delhi,” he said, adding that 400 students from the Delhi government had passed competitive exams for technical courses and passed through reputed colleges.
“I am a simple man, I know no politics. I have improved the schools of the Delhi government. The schools have achieved 99.7 percent result this time. Melania Trump (former US first lady) came to visit a government school in Delhi. Who comes to see the government school of (Manohar Lal) Khattar,” he said.
The AAP leader, who has come across Haryana after a resounding victory in the Punjab polls earlier this year, has pledged to rebuild the state schools if given the chance.
“Those who want their children to become doctors, engineers, lawyers, come with us. Those who want them to become rioters, goons, rapists, go with them (BJP). All such elements are in that party,” he said .
“They will never give your kids jobs because they need unemployed mobsters for their party. They will teach your kids to rebel and send their kids abroad,” he added.
The AAP leader then targeted the BJP for congratulating those involved in an attack on his official residence.
A swipe at the BJP government in Haryana over the leakage of question papers from job application exams. “Khattar Saab, if you can’t pass an exam, how are you going to run a government,” he said.
Mr Kejriwal then pledged to provide free health care and electricity and eradicate corruption if AAP is given a mandate in Haryana.
“I heard there was a storm here yesterday. It bodes well, the storm is coming from Delhi, Punjab,” he said.
The AAP leader said a media person had told him that the BJP could remove Mr Khattar as Chief Minister and bring a different face. “Why? Is Khattar Saab corrupt? Isn’t it working? I challenge BJP to go to the polls in 2024 in the name of Mr Khattar,” he said.
“AAP is a strictly fair party, so fair that even if my son does something wrong I would not spare him,” Mr Kejriwal said. “We have ended the corruption in Delhi, Punjab, now it is Haryana’s turn.”
He said reporters keep asking him which party he wants to form an alliance with. “I don’t know how to forge alliances. I will forge an alliance with 130 crore people of this country, with farmers, workers, doctors and we will make India the strongest country in the world.”
