New Delhi/Jammu:
The border between India-Pakistan on Suchetgarh in Jammu is closed for citizens. The Border Security Force (BSF) has put the civil movement in the Octroi Post in Suchetgarh, days after 26 people were killed in a terror attack in Pahalgam.
This was after the BSF said that the retreat ceremonies were “reduced” in Attari, Hussainiwala and Sadki along the border between India-Pakistan in Punjab. A fourth such exercise takes place in Suchetgarh. The international border between India runs from Jammu in the north to Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat in the west of India.
The steps reflected “India's serious concern about cross -border hostilities and again confirms that peace and provocation cannot co -exist”.
Twenty-five tourists and a local were shot in a terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley, also known as 'Mini-Switzerland' of Pahalgam.
The consequences of the attack saw the relations between India and Pakistan fall to their lowest level in years, with New Delhi accused Islamabad of supporting “cross -border terrorism” and launching a diplomatic offensive.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi sworn on Thursday “to identify, follow and punish every terrorist and their backer”. “We will chase them to the ends of the earth,” he said. The police have identified three terrorists.
India has suspended a distribution of water exchange, announced the closure of Attari, the most important border crossing with Pakistan, has lowered diplomatic ties and withdrawn Visa for Pakistanis.
Interior Minister Amit Shah of the Union is expected to hold an important meeting today to discuss the future way of acting about the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan.
