AAP headquarters is being spied on, Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed.
New Delhi:
Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday accused the central government of spying on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), allegedly through central agencies.
“The central government is trying to spy on a national political party,” Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, adding, “We believe they are from a central agency.”
The Delhi minister said that in one instance he saw a group of seven people wandering outside AAP’s headquarters in Delhi. While three of them went in, four stayed out. Mr Bharadwaj said that when the guard asked them to write their details on the register, they “apologised”.
“Some people were seen wandering outside the AAP headquarters in Delhi. Three of them entered the party office and the others stayed outside. I think they were all from the same office and had the same agenda. The guard asked them for their details in the register , but apologized and went back,” the Delhi minister told ANI.
The Delhi minister claimed that there is an atmosphere of panic and fear among the people. He also shared CCTV footage from the episode.
“Today there is an atmosphere of panic and fear among the people. Previously, only ordinary people were spied on. Now the headquarters of a nationwide party AAP is spied on. Previously, the CM’s house was also spied on who comes, when and where does he go “How can anyone trust the central government?” read a rough translation of Mr Bharadwaj’s tweet in Hindi.
Mr. Bharadwaj also questioned why the central government is afraid of Arvind Kejriwal and reminded the central government to use Pegasus to spy on the phones of BJP’s political opponents.
“Why is the central government so afraid of Arvind Kejriwal? It was also said that the central government had previously bought Pegasus software from Israel. Remnants of this software have been found in the phones of famous people who don’t get along with the central government. This is a serious matter,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Mr Bharadwaj described the Supreme Court’s decision to extend the term of office of the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) as a “major setback for the government”.
“This is a major setback for the government. The motive for the postponement has been called into question by the SC verdict,” he said.
The Delhi minister also criticized Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for engaging in politics in times of need. “LG said I cleaned the Shahdara drain. Today they say those drains have not been desilted? Whose honor have you claimed, today you say it didn’t happen?” he tweeted after addressing a press conference.
Delhi LG VK Saxena visited swampy areas in Delhi on Tuesday.
