New Delhi:
Congress leader and secretary general of the party of Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi, said on Saturday that Congress has canceled its election rallies due to the rise in COVID-19 cases.
Priyanka Gandhi took a look at the BJP and said that development in a state cannot happen by inaugurating airports before the elections. “Unemployed youth, farmers, women, the poor all have a hard time. Development did not reach them.”
“In terms of health, Uttar Pradesh is at the very bottom. The situation is worse in terms of women’s health. If we come to power, we will fill all the vacancies of doctors in the state. Free treatment of up to Rs one lakh will be given to every family Each health center will have separate doctors for women,” she added.
Speaking about women’s empowerment, Ms Gandhi said, “I say over and over that if you want to empower women, stop this one gas cylinder practice. How they’re going to get work, education, health and safety, that’s important.”
“40 percent reservation for women is not real participation. It should be 50 percent,” she added. She said that inspired by the female victims fighting atrocities, this slogan was born: ‘I’m a girl, I can fight’. She talked about uniting women’s power.
“A woman’s sari was drawn in Lakhimpur. She was in the Samajwadi party and not in the Congress. Now she is running in elections and the entire Congress Party is with her. We need to do this so that women can enter politics fearlessly” , said Mrs Gandhi .
