India registered 2,841 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases to 4.31.16,254. According to data from the Ministry of Health, active cases fell to 18,604 on Friday.
The death toll rose to 5,24,190 with 9 new fatalities today, the data said.
Active cases comprised 0.05 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was 98.74 percent, the ministry said.
A decrease of 463 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a 24-hour time frame. The daily positivity rate was recorded as 0.95 percent and the weekly positivity rate as 0.82 percent, according to the ministry.
