India reported 3,805 new coronavirus infections in one day, bringing the number of active cases of the disease in the country to 20,303 and the total number to 4,30,98,743, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Saturday.
The data also showed that 22 fatalities – 20 of them from Kerala alone – were reported in a 24-hour period, bringing the cumulative death toll to 5,24,024.
Active cases now make up 0.05 percent of total infections, the health ministry said, adding that the country’s COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.74 percent.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.78 percent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.79 percent, the ministry said.

Telangana registered 42 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing the total to 7,92,295. Hyderabad reported the highest number of cases with 29.
A health department bulletin said 49 people recovered from the infection and the cumulative number of recovery so far was 7,87,795.
The recovery rate was 99.43 percent. There were no new fatalities from the infectious disease and the death toll remained 4,111.
Delhi registered 1,407 new Covid cases and two more fatalities, while the positivity rate fell to 4.72 percent, according to data the health department shared here on Saturday. A day earlier, a total of 29,821 tests were carried out in Delhi to detect the corona virus.
Delhi on Friday registered 1,656 cases of COVID-19 and zero fatalities from the infection, the highest since Feb. 4, while the positivity rate was 5.39 percent.
With the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 infections in Delhi rose to 18,92,832, while the death toll stands at 26,179, the data showed.
