COVID-19 cases in India: Death toll has risen to 5,21,573 with 43 new fatalities

India reported at least 1,109 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of coronavirus infections to 4,30,333,067. According to data from the Union Ministry of Health, the number of active cases fell to 11,492.
The death toll rose to 5,21,573 with 43 new fatalities, data was updated yesterday.
Active cases comprised 0.03 percent of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 percent, the ministry said.
A reduction of 147 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a 24-hour timeframe.
The daily positivity rate was recorded as 0.24 percent and the weekly positivity rate as 0.23 percent, according to the ministry.
