A special Mumbai court on Tuesday denied bail to fired police officer Riyazuddin Kazi, who was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for his alleged role in the Antilia bombing and the Mansukh Hiran murder case.
Kazi’s bail request was denied by special judge AT Wankhede. The detailed order is not yet available.
Kazi, who had been working closely with accused police officer Sachin Waze, was posted to the Mumbai Crime Branch’s crime intelligence unit when the Scorpio car loaded with gelatin sticks was found outside Antilia, the official residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani.
Kazi’s role came to light after Waze was arrested on March 13 last year. He is charged with destroying evidence related to the case.
In addition to Kazi and Waze, other suspects in the case include former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma and former police officers Vinayak Shinde and Sunil Mane.
