Cyrus Mistry was on his way from Ahmedabad to Mumbai when his car hit the dividing line.

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) for a wrongful death charge against gynecologist Dr Anahita Pandole in the death case of industrialist Cyrus Mistry.
Anahita Pandole has been charged with the death of Cyrus Mistry while driving the latter’s car when the accident happened near Mumbai on September 4, 2022.
Balasaheb Patil, Superintendent of Police, Palghar said on Jan. 6 that police had submitted 152 pages of evidence in Cyrus Mistry’s death case.
Palghar Police in Maharashtra had filed a case against Dr Pandole on the day of the accident for negligence and reckless driving.
According to Palghar police, Mistry was on his way from Ahmedabad to Mumbai when his car hit the dividing line. There were four people in the car. Two died on the spot, including Mistry, while the other two were taken to hospital.
Besides Mistry, another deceased person was identified as Jahangir Dinsha Pandole.
The car in which Cyrus Mistry was driving lost control due to speeding and rammed into the fence, Palghar police said at the time.
Mistry, the sixth chairman of Tata Sons, was removed from the position in October 2016. He had taken over as chairman in December 2012 after Ratan Tata announced his retirement. N Chandrasekaran later took over as executive chairman of Tata Sons.
