Mr Ali said that instead of provoking or inciting BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri by making an offensive remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi – as alleged by the party’s Nishikant Dubey earlier in the day – he tried to use the offensive to have words deleted from the report. .
During a discussion on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, Mr Bidhuri had used a series of offensive and communal words against the BSP MP, leading to disgust and widespread condemnation from both politicians and people in social media. On Friday, the BJP had also issued a show-cause notice to Mr Bidhuri and asked him to explain his conduct.
‘Instigation’
However, on Saturday, BJP Nishikant Dubey, while condemning Mr Bidhuri’s language, wrote a letter to chairman Om Birla and demanded that Mr Ali’s ‘unsavory’ behavior should also be probed.
“The fact remains that throughout the speech of Shri Bidhuri, Shri Danish Ali indulged in a ‘running commentary’ and also made distasteful remarks to everyone with the intention of inconveniencing Shri Bidhuri and also inciting him to ‘lose his cool’ ‘. and calm’ and unable to express his views in the House,” Dubey wrote in his letter.
The BJP MP alleged that when Bidhuri was speaking, the BSP MP was ‘busy instigating him’ and also made – at the top of his voice – a ‘very objectionable and blasphemous remark’ against Prime Minister Modi.
“This statement by Danish Ali, I think, was more than enough for any patriotic public representative to ‘lose his cool’ and fall into his trap of uttering unsavory words,” Dubey said.
‘Creating a story’
A few hours later, Mr Ali posted on , while the The truth is that I worked to save the dignity of the post of Prime Minister. I demanded that the Chairman should delete the highly objectionable words against Modi.ji from the file.”
The video posted by Mr Ali showed Bidhuri listing the offensive comments made by opposition leaders against the Prime Minister in the past. These are the comments Mr Ali is likely referring to in his post.
Action, opposition movements
Four opposition parties – Congress, DMK, Trinamool Congress and NCP – wrote to Speaker Birla on Friday demanding immediate punitive action against Mr Bidhuri.
Officials said the Speaker has paid “serious attention” to the BJP MP’s insults and warned him of “strict action” if he repeats such behaviour.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said in the Lok Sabha: “I regret if the Opposition is hurt by the member’s comments.” However, opposition parties condemned him for issuing a “half-hearted” apology.
