New Delhi:
A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing his father after he refused to give him money to buy drugs, police said.
The deceased was like Suresh Kumar, a resident of Shakurpur village, they said.
Information was received about an altercation in Subhash Place in northwestern Delhi and police personnel reached the scene. They found Suresh injured there. He had suffered abrasions and was bleeding from one of his ears. He was taken to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Usha Rangnani said during the inquiry that it was revealed that the victim had been arguing with his son, Ajay, over money issues. During the argument, Ajay attacked his father for refusing to give him money for buying drugs, she said.
“A case has been registered under Section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code and Ajay has been arrested. Further investigation is ongoing,” the DCP said.
