DMRC staff will also be deployed at stations to accommodate the extra crowds on Raksha Bandhan.
New Delhi:
Delhi Metro will run about 106 additional train journeys on its corridors on Wednesday to facilitate passengers at the Raksha Bandhan festival, officials said.
Additional staff from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will also be deployed at the stations to accommodate the extra rush of commuters by operating additional ticket counters, they said on Tuesday.
If necessary, additional standby trains will also be held for introduction into the services to accommodate the crowds, officials said.
Passengers are requested to use the DMRC Travel Mobile App to purchase QR code-based tickets to avoid rushing at ticket counters, they said.
Security guards and customer facilitation agents will be deployed at major subway stations to assist and guide commuters, the DMRC said.
