Pizza chain Domino’s and Japanese car major Honda today apologized for hurting Indians’ feelings over social media posts from their business partners in Pakistan. The statements come a day after automaker Hyundai clarified a tweet in support of separatists in Kashmir.
Domino’s India said it is committed to the Indian market and has the utmost respect for the country’s people and culture.
“Domino’s India is committed to the Indian market, where it has belonged for more than 25 years, and has the utmost respect for the country’s people, culture and spirit of nationalism,” the company said in a statement on Twitter. .
The multinational pizza chain went on to say: “We stand here to protect its legacy forever. We respect and honor all that the country has to offer.”

Honda India also took to Twitter to apologize, saying it regretted the pain caused to Indians’ feelings.
“Honda is deeply committed to ensuring that the laws and sentiments of every country in which it operates are respected. Any damage caused by this is regretted,” it said.
As part of its policy, Honda said it “makes an effort to ensure that it avoids commentary on race, politics, religion and social issues in every part of the world where it is present”.
Domino’s and Honda joined the list of global companies – Hyundai, KFC, Pizza Hut, Toyota, Suzuki – that have apologized for social media posts made by their business partners in Pakistan on Kashmir Solidarity Day. The social media posts provoked a reaction in India, with users on Twitter calling for a boycott of products by these companies.
