Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh:
A 15-year-old girl died after she was hit by a train on the Lucknow-Ayodhya railway line near Patulki village, police said on Wednesday.
Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, said police officer Manoj Sonkar of Dariyabad police station.
The incident took place on Tuesday when the Vande Bharat Express train was on its way from Ayodhya to Lucknow. After noticing the girl on the tracks, the locomotive pilot immediately applied the brakes but was unfortunately hit by the train, officials said.
