Gurugram:
A 12-year-old student at a private school allegedly sent a bomb threat email to the institution in an attempt to switch to online classes, police said Saturday.
An FIR was registered at the Cyber Crime (South) police station and the student was identified, they said.
According to a Gurugram police spokesperson, a complaint was received on December 18 from the person in charge of Shriram Millennium School, Sector 65, about the school receiving a bomb threat through their email.
Investigations revealed that the email came from a 12-year-old boy, Station House Officer Naveen Kumar said.
During interrogation, the boy revealed that he is a student of the same school and that he had sent the email with the intention of pushing the school to switch to online classes, the SHO said.
“He said he accidentally sent the email without understanding the seriousness of his actions. The student is cooperating with the investigation and an investigation is ongoing,” the spokesperson said.
