Congress pledged today to rename Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium to Sardar Patel Stadium, if it comes to power in Gujarat. Ashok Gehlot, senior congress leader and chief minister of Rajasthan, published the party manifesto for the upcoming parliamentary elections and said the congress will adopt the election manifesto as the official document at the first cabinet meeting itself, if the party forms the government.
Parliamentary elections will be held in Gujarat in two phases, on December 1 and 5. The votes will be counted on December 8.
While promising to create 10 lakh jobs in the state for all Gujaratis, the congressional manifesto says it will guarantee 50 percent reservation for women in government jobs and provide a monthly stipend of Rs 2,000 to every single woman, widow and elderly woman in the state. the state .
The party also said 3,000 English-language schools will be opened by the government and girls in the state will receive free education until graduation.
Farm loan waivers of up to Rs 3 lakhs, 300 units of free electricity, monthly subsidy of Rs 3,000 to any unemployed youth and domestic gas cylinders for Rs 500 are some of the others promised in the congressional manifesto.
While holding the current BJP-led government in Gujarat responsible for rampant corruption, Mr Gehlot said that if Congress is voted to power, investigations will be launched into all corruption allegations over the past 27 years and those guilty will be booked.
The Congress is providing free medical treatment to all Gujaratis up to a maximum of Rs 10 lakhs and free health check and medicines up to Rs 5 lakhs, and has also pledged to provide Rs 4 lakh in COVID compensation in the state.
