Prime Minister Narendra Modi said today that India is making progress in several areas including technology and economy as spiritual centers in the country are reviving.
In his virtual speech at the inauguration of Sai Hira Global Convention Center at Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi pointed out that 40 percent of the total real-time online transactions took place in India and urged the devotees to entire Puttaparthi district (Sri Satya Sai district) towards a digital economy.
PM Modi noted that climate change has been a major challenge for the entire world in the 21st century and said India has included initiatives like Mission LiFE on the global platform.
Reaffirming that the world trusts India’s leadership, he said that this year India will hold the presidency of the prestigious G-20 whose theme of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” is drawn from the country’s fundamental thinking. He went on to say that India has the third largest startup ecosystem in the world and has been competing with major countries in areas such as digital technology and 5G technology.
“On the one hand, spiritual centers are reviving in the country and at the same time, India is leading in economy and technology. Today, India is among the top five economies in the world,” he said in a video.
PM Modi also praised the ongoing Leaders Conference of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Council, calling it an effective medium to learn about India and connect with the world.
India’s attractiveness is increasing globally, he said while referring to the June 21 International Yoga Day celebrations at the United Nations (UN) headquarters in New York, which saw participants from the largest number of countries.
For thousands of years, Indian saints have nurtured the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’, Prime Minister Modi said.
The Prime Minister called for support for tree planting and making India plastic free and highlighted ‘Prem Taru’, an initiative to plant 1 crore trees in the next two years.

While he may not be with them physically, Prime Minister Modi said, using technology, “I am with all of you.”
Speaking of the new convention center, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that it will create an experience of spirituality and splendor of modernity, saying it encompasses cultural diversity, conceptual grandeur and would become a focal point for discussion.
The Prime Minister praised Sri Sathya Sai Baba noting that the former has followers from all over the world and his devotees are connected to Prasanthi Nilayam regardless of language and culture.
The Prime Minister quoted Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Telugu as saying, ‘Seva ane rendu aksharallone ananta mina shakti imidi undi (There is boundless power in the word service).
Prime Minister Modi also recalled Sathya Sai Baba’s other timeless teachings such as ‘love all serve all’, ‘help ever, never hurt’, ‘less talk more work’ and ‘every experience is a lesson – every loss is a gain’.
“These teachings have both sensitivity and a deep philosophy of life,” he said.
Prime Minister Modi praised Sathya Sai Baba for building hospitals, schools and colleges to provide free services to people for many years, especially the hi-tech heart hospital in Prasanthi Nilayam, including the Sathya Sai Central Trust which collaborates with the ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ for providing free water to remote villages.
The Prime Minister also reminisced about a phone call he had received from the spiritual leader during the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, offering him guidance and assistance.
PM Modi emphasized the importance of good conduct by the leaders of the society as people follow them, saying that Shri Sathya Sai’s life is the living example of this.
“Today, India is also moving as it prioritizes its tasks. Towards the century of independence, we have named Amrit Kaal ‘Kartavya Kaal’. These commitments include the guidance of our spiritual values and resolutions for the future. has both Vikas (development) and Virasat (heritage).” PM Modi praised Sathya Sai Central Trust’s initiative to provide food made from Ragi-Java (millet) to about 40 lakh students of Andhra Pradesh.
The Prime Minister underlined Shree Anna’s health benefits and said the country would benefit greatly if other states joined such initiatives.
“There is health in Shri Anna, and there are also opportunities. All our efforts will increase India’s potential on a global level and strengthen India’s identity,” he said.
“The blessings of Sathya Sai are with all of us. With this power, we will build a developed India and fulfill our determination to serve the whole world,” the prime minister said.
Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust has built the Sai Hira Global Convention Center at Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi, funded by philanthropist Ryuko Hira, demonstrating the vision of cultural exchange, spirituality and global exchange.
The new facility will host conferences, seminars and cultural events, including fostering dialogue and understanding between people from all walks of life.
It is also equipped with meditation halls, serene gardens and accommodation facilities.
Prasanthi Nilayam is the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, located in the eponymous district of Andhra Pradesh.
