Priyanka Gandhi urged the people of the state to vote wisely ahead of the Karnataka polls.

Congress Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi said on Tuesday that her grandmother, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, has never betrayed the people’s trust.
At a public meeting here, Priyanka Gandhi said, “You all know Indira Gandhi. Her specialty was that she never betrayed your trust. Today, if you trust me, it is thanks to Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and other Congress leaders. who really worked for you.”
Priyanka Gandhi launched a scathing attack on BJP leaders, urging the people of the state not to be swayed by their words, but rather to look to the “consciences” of the leaders seeking votes.
She said: “The Prime Minister came here and said that the opposition leaders want to dig his grave. What is this talk? Every citizen of the country would like the Prime Minister’s health to be good.”
“The people of Karnataka should not vote on the words of a leader, but on their conscience,” she added.
Priyanka Gandhi addressed Chief Minister Bommai-led BJP government in the state and said, “Last time, people elected JDS and Congress, but BJP stole the government with the power of money.”
Priyanka urged the people of the state to vote wisely and said, “The 40 percent government has ruthlessly looted the public. The Karnataka government has looted Rs 1.5 lakh crore.
Referring to the Amul-Nandini quarrel, Priyanka Gandhi said, “Nandini Milk used to produce 90 lakh liters of milk and dairy products, but today only 70 lakh liters of milk are produced.”
“The government has deliberately reduced milk production so that Amul milk could be brought to Karnataka,” she claimed.
She said it is time for change in Karnataka as BJP has not done any constructive work in the state.
“They (BJP) have not done any constructive work for Karnataka. So it is time for change. In the last three years, everything went downhill in the state be it facilities or infrastructure. People know from their own experience about the governance of the BJP,” she added.
She further stated that there is a corrupt government being run in Karnataka state which has done nothing for the people.
“Karnataka runs a corrupt government and it is a government that has done nothing for the people. We want a government that works for the people. The BJP has not done any work for the people of Karnataka,” she said.
On Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi lashed out at the incumbent BJP government in Karnataka, claiming that the “40 percent committee government” will be reduced to 40 seats in the May 10 parliamentary election.
Speaking at a roadshow in Vijayapura, Rahul Gandhi said, “The Congress will form the government in Karnataka with 150 seats, while the BJP’s 40 percent committee government will be reduced to 40 seats.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah responded to Gandhi on Monday over his allegations that he labeled the Bommai government in Karnataka as a “40 percent commission BJP government,” saying that if the Congress has evidence, they will go to the need to go to court.
“They can talk about it and have to go to court if they have concrete evidence. There is no investigation and there is no case. How will people believe such baseless accusations?” he said.
The Karnataka Assembly elections will be held in one phase on May 10, with the counting of votes on May 13.
