Releasing the party manifesto for the November 30 Assembly elections, BRS chief and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that all 93 lakh families living below the poverty line (BPL) in the state would get life insurance cover of Rs five lakh and that the government would do that. bear the costs of the premium.
Mr. Rao, also known as KCR, said the social security pension, which is currently Rs 2,016, will be gradually increased to Rs 5,000 per month over the next five years.
According to the manifesto, it will be increased to Rs 3,016 in the first year after the BRS returns to power and then gradually increased to Rs 5,000 in the next four years.
Similarly, the pension for Divyang people (persons with disabilities) will be increased from the existing Rs 4,016 to Rs 6,016 in the next five years.
Under the ‘Rythu Bandhu’ scheme, under which farmers will get Rs 10,000 per year per hectare, the payments will be gradually increased to Rs 16,000 per year over the next five years.
“After the BRS comes to power, each gas cylinder will be given to ‘eligible beneficiaries’ for Rs 400 and the remaining cost will be borne by the state government,” the report said.
The BRS manifesto also promises health insurance coverage of Rs 15 lakh to all eligible beneficiaries under the ‘Arogya Sri’ health scheme, increasing it from the current Rs five lakh.
Mr. Rao, who expressed confidence that his party would return to power, said the promises announced by the BRS would be implemented within six to seven months of the formation of the government.
Before the manifesto was released, the CM said his government had implemented 90 percent of social welfare schemes, although these were not mentioned in the manifesto of the previous elections.
Speaking further about the plans of the BRS if it returns to power, he said that all residential junior colleges will be converted into residential colleges.

Highlighting the development that the State has witnessed under the BRS, Mr. Rao stated that Telangana has become number one in terms of per capita income and energy consumption, among others. He promised to continue the government’s policies on power and agriculture and said stimulus measures would be taken if necessary.
