A member of a KHALALISTANI group, who had been fleeing for the past three decades, was arrested on Wednesday from a village in Punjab's Amritsar, officials said here.
Mangat Singh, with a reward of RS 25,000 in his arrest, was arrested by a joint team of Uttar Pradesh Anti-terrorist team (ATS) and Sahaibabad Police station officials.
He is confronted with accusations of attempted murder and under parts of the terrorist and disruptive activities (prevention) ACT and the Weapons Act. A FIR in the case was registered against him in 1993.
Singh was arrested that year and received a bail in 1995. He had been on the run since then, a police officer said. He was also sought in a separate case of theft and extortion.
Mangat Singh's brother Sangat Singh was the head of the forbidden organization KHALALISTAN Command Force. He was killed in a meeting with the Punjab police in 1990.
