“Lalu ji has said he would never bow to the BJP,” said his son, Tejashwi Yadav.
Patna, Bihar:
After a CBI court sentenced former Bihar chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday to five years in prison in his fifth feeding scam case and fined him Rs 60 lakh, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Tejashwi Yadav alleged that his father was targeted for refusing to shake hands with the BJP.
“If Lalu Ji had shaken hands with the BJP, he would have been called Raja Harishchandra. But he is fighting against RSS-BJP. Therefore, he risks jail time. We will not be afraid of this,” Tejashwi Yadav said, condemning his father and the former Chief Minister of Bihar.
He further stated, “Lalu ji has said he would never bow to the BJP.”
Speaking further about the verdict, Tejashwi Yadav said that the CBI has forgotten about other scammers such as Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi while pursuing the case of Lalu Prasad Yadav. “Aside from the feed scams, it seems like no other scams have happened in the country. Nearly 80 scams have taken place in Bihar, but where is the CBI, ED, NIA? The CBI has forgotten Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi” said the RJD leader.
He also said he would appeal to the Supreme Court. “The CBI court has sentenced Lalu ji in the case. We are now going to the High Court. There are still High Court and Supreme Court. I believe the decision in the higher courts will be in favor of Lalu ji.”
“People of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are looking at the way the BJP is treating Lalu ji. The people of UP will give an answer in the elections,” he added.
