The exam centers where mass copying for classes 10 and 12 board exams are reported will be permanently excluded, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said.
According to the Maharashtra State Board from Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE), the first day of the HSC research for class 12 on the first day of the HSC study for class 12 were reported.
Mr Fadnavis asked officials to check sensitive research centers through drones and video cameras on Tuesday. He directed the dismissing of school employees or teachers if they were involved in facilitating copying.
The decision was made in the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.
Mr. Fadnavis also had interaction with all district collectors and police officers and took stock of the preparation for exams.
The Minister President said that district collectors must form special squadrons that have to reach one hour before the exam starts and have to wait until the answer sheets are presented to the custodian.
It is the joint responsibility of the district collector, chief inspector of the police and Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Parishad to prevent copying in exams. Similarly, in urban areas it will be the responsibility of the municipal commissioner and police commissioner, he said.
Mr. Fadnavis also led district collectors, superintendents of police and chief executive officers from Zilla Parishads to visit sensitive exam centers on the days that English, mathematics and science papers are planned.
The 12 board exams class started at 3,373 centers in the state. The exams will continue until March 18.
Mr. Fadnavis said that an unauthorized person cannot be allowed at 100 meters from the research center.
Steps must be taken to ensure that students do not wear material that can lead to copying in exams, he said.
The Flying Squad is also expected to take effective steps to guarantee copy-free investigation, the Chief Minister said.
The state administration of secondary and higher secondary education stated: “42 cases of copying were reported on the first day of HSC research.” More than 15 Lakh students appeared for the first paper, English, in more than 3,000 exam centers in the state.
Of the 42 cases of copying (malpractice), 26 were reported of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, eight in Pune, three in Nashik, two each in Amravati and Nagpur and one in Latur.
Mumbai, Konkan and Kolhapur registered zero cases of malpractice.
In the meantime, a student tried to jump for the exam in a center in the Narhe area of Pune of the Second Floor. He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, officials said.
