A man was arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a foreigner after a video allegedly showed him inappropriately touching the woman as she made her way to her hotel here, officials said Tuesday.
The suspect, identified as Kuldeep Singh Sisodia, 40, was apprehended from Nokha town in Bikaner district on Tuesday night, they said.
Bharat Singh Rathore, Station House Officer of Vidhayakpuri Police Station, said that after a video was received on the WhatsApp number of the police helpline, a case was registered under section 354 (Abuse or criminal assault against a woman with the intent insulting her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code. According to the initial investigation, the video is from Motilal Atal Road, where a British foreigner, along with her boyfriend, had stayed 18 days ago, he said.
The suspect, who appears to be a cab or taxi driver, was seen inappropriately touching the woman and walking beside her.
The arrested suspect will be taken to Jaipur for questioning, the police said.
