A police officer was killed after terrorists threw a grenade into the Qaimoh area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday, police said on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Tahir Khan, a resident of Poonch.
“Last night, a grenade incident was reported in Qaimoh Kulgam. In this terror incident, 01 police personnel namely Tahir Khan R/O Mendhar, Poonch was injured. He was transferred to GMC Hospital Anantnag for treatment, where he succumbed and suffered martyrdom reached,” Zone Police said in a tweet.

On Saturday, a staff of the Central Reserve Police (CRPF) was injured when terrorists threw a grenade at security forces in the Eidgah town of Jammu and Kashmir in Srinagar.
“A grenade was thrown by terrorist(s) at security forces on Ali Jan Road, Eidgah. This caused minor splinter injuries to a CRPF personnel,” Srinagar Police said in a tweet.
The grenade attacks came days after the Indian military foiled a suicide bombing attack on an Indian army base in Jammu and Kashmir that killed two terrorists and three army personnel.
Subedar Rajendra Prasad, Rifleman Manoj Kumar and Rifleman Lakshmanan D were the soldiers killed during the encounter on Thursday morning.
