New Delhi:
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attacked the center on Monday over Delhi police’s notification to Rahul Gandhi, saying that the people of the country are watching all the exploits of “the corrupt BJP government” and will reply when the time comes .
Her attack came after Rahul Gandhi confronted a Delhi police team on Sunday who reached his residence to inquire about his “women continue to be sexually assaulted” statement made during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
In a tweet in Hindi, Priyanka Gandhi said, “Message is given to Mr. Rahul Gandhi why did you raise the voice of women, dalits, tribes, poor, farmers and youth who suffered atrocities?” The people of the country are watching all the exploits of “the corrupt BJP government” and will give an answer when the time comes, she said.
In another tweet, Priyanka Gandhi denounced the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh for the reported suicide of a college student for alleged teasing.
“In the media, advertisements say that ‘criminals tremble’ in UP. But in reality, everyday criminals are committing crimes against women without fear and the women are not being heard in the government system,” she said.
Congress has condemned the action of the Delhi police after the police knocked on Gandhi’s door for the third time in five days on Sunday asking him for information on the female “victims” so that the police can deal with their case.
The opposition party attacked the central government, accusing it of harassment, harassment and political vendetta, but the BJP dismissed the charges, saying the police were “merely fulfilling their lawful duty”.
