Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a mission to make India more respectable in the world and the gesture of the head of state seeking his signature and another touching his feet shows the respect Modi is getting, the Union Home Minister said, Amit Shah, here Sunday.
Amit Shah made these remarks while speaking about a post to launch several projects of the BJP-ruled Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in Chharodi village on the outskirts of the city.
“Our prime minister visited six countries in six days and met heads of different countries. It is really remarkable to see how much respect he is given. While the head of state was seeking his signature, another was touching his feet seeking his blessings,” he said . .
He referred to the Quad meeting when US and Australian leaders spoke to Prime Minister Modi about “requests” they received from prominent citizens to attend the Indian leader’s programs during his state visit to Washington DC and Sydney next month on Tuesday.
At the rally, the Australian Prime Minister recalled how more than 90,000 people welcomed him on the victory lap at Narendra Modi Stadium in Gujarat.
To this, Joe Biden told Prime Minister Modi in a lighter manner to take his signature.
In another incident, Prime Minister James Marape of Papua New Guinea touched Prime Minister Modi’s feet as a mark of respect when he reached that country on his first visit.
“This honor received by the Prime Minister is also from 130 crore citizens, especially Gujaratis. PM Modi is on a mission to make India more respectable in the world. I am confident that his efforts will make India more acceptable in the world, Amit Shah added.
Some of the projects launched by Amit Shah included sewage pumping station, fire station, library, lake beautification project and homeless shelter.
On the occasion, Amit Shah also participated in the online drawing of 2,501 houses built by the AMC for the lower income group (LIG).
Earlier in the day, Amit Shah flagged state electric buses.
